As you can tell from the decreased construction activity, the major construction items are now completed. The last section of roadway reconstruction along Dewes Street from Lincoln Street to Harlem Avenue was completed last week.

Several residents have asked when the final layer of asphalt pavement will be installed. With any major project, there are some minor repairs that need to be made along with testing/ inspections that need to be performed prior to finalizing the project. The landscape restoration along Dewes Street from Lincoln Street to Harlem Avenue also needs to be completed. At this time, the Village is waiting until all inspections are performed and accepted, needed repairs completed, and landscape restoration installed prior to paving the final lift of asphalt. This will hopefully eliminate the need to cut into the new pavement as well as keep the final surface from being damaged. The final lift of asphalt pavement is currently scheduled for mid-July.

Thank you to all the residents along Henley Street, Dewes Street, Elm Street, and the surrounding areas throughout the 2014 and 2015 construction seasons. We understand a project of this size creates a lot of issues with accessing your driveways, dusty conditions, travel delays, water main shut downs, and overall disruptions to your daily lives. The major construction operations are coming to an end.  There are still a lot of minor issues that need to be addressed and construction on-going, but these should not create restrictions to your driveways or cause any significant inconveniences.
